"A Nut for Joe Foster" (p. 2) says Democratic state Rep. Joe Foster "is not a legal citizen of the United States." (signed, "D. Kellogg.")
"A Word to Patriots" (p. 2) says Joseph Foster was once a Republican, joined the Democrats, and "has openly stated that he would prefer Jeff. Davis... before Abraham Lincoln." It reports that Foster said these remarks "were only jokes."
"Who Will Vote for Major Tilton," (p. 2) from the Washington Standard, said it will be "those who have rejoiced over disaster and defeat to the Union."

Abstract
